Traditionally an adult affair, with unlimited Champagne and Bellinis, children can now join in the fun by getting involved at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Saturday 17th January 2009 from 12pm to 4pm, the first collaboration between InterContinental London Park Lane Lane and Cookie Crumbles. The Mini Chef sessions will teach children to create topsy turvy fun food such as upside down carrot cake, gingerbread men and marbled magic balls – all to take home in goody bags. For mucky pups aprons will be provided!

Cookie Crumbles provides a wide range of cooking activities for children and teenagers from 4 – 18 year olds. Since 1994, they have taught over 10,000 children to cook and are renowned for providing hands-on cooking parties and cookery workshops. Cookie Crumbles is run by former food & drink editor of “Family Circle” Magazine, Carola Weymouth, a Paris-trained chef and former patissier.

The Mad Hatter’s tea party costs £39 per adult and £14 per child (4yrs – 14yrs) and includes brunch with unlimited Champagne, Bellinis and Cookbook signature Bloody Marys, as well as all Cookie Crumbles ingredients, recipes and goody bags.

The first screenings of the new TV advert promoting North East England as a visitor destination were broadcast today. Showing on ITV1 and Channel 4 in areas within a three-hour drive time and nationwide on satellite television, the commercial features spectacular, new aerial shots of the North East’s coast and countryside, along with fantastic footage of the region’s many dining and shopping destinations. The new advert aims to capitalise on the growing trend for holidaymakers to stay at home this year.

Popular North East attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, the Cheviot Hills, Boulby Cliffs, Durham City, Hadrian’s Wall, NewcastleGateshead and The Angel of the North all make an appearance.

Hollywood actor Sean Pertwee, best known for his roles in “Goal”, “Cold Feet” and “Event Horizon” is the voice of the advert which follows the theme: “When does a place become part of you … when you’re in North East England?” to inspire potential visitors to come to the region.

Save up to £65 on mid-week breaks at Summerhayes B&B in Devizes. This small but stylish bed and breakfast is offering three-night mid week breaks for just £130 per room, based on two sharing, saving £65 off the normal price. The price includes accommodation and a full English breakfast. The property is ideally located for exploring the market town of Devizes and visiting nearby Avebury and the mystical stones. Price is based on stays in January and February.

Murder mystery weekend break for just £158 per person. The Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel is offering a fun weekend of murder and mystery on January 10th. The overnight package includes accommodation, breakfast and a three course evening meal with entertainment provided in the form of a murder mystery evening. The package costs from £158 for two people – saving approximately £60.

Chocolate, cookies and cream breaks from only £40 per person, per night.
