Don’t expect any further posts from me today. Shortly I’ll be setting off for Windermere to run in the Brathay Windermere Marathon. The 26.2 miles is an anticlockwise circuit around Windermere lake – one of the hilliest (and therefore toughest) marathon courses in the country, but also one of the most scenic. Spare a thought for the group of runners known as the ‘Ten in Tenners” who have taken on the Brathay Challenge; today they are running the course for the 10th time in 10 days… incredible! You can learn more about the Brathay Hall Trust and see last year’s event in this video:
Wish me luck… I think I’m going to need it!

Impressive stuff….. Good luck, and have fun!
Thanks, Lesley… I had a really good day as it turned out, and completed the marathon in 3 hours 55 minutes 24 seconds. This was a new personal best for me, beating my London Marathon time from 12 years ago (on a much hillier course) by just over one minute!
