Escape to Wensleydale

Synonymous with pale crumbly cheese, Wallace and Gromit and the TV series All Creatures Great and Small is the beautiful area of Wensleydale lying in the Yorkshire Dales.  Spring is a lovely time to visit and is ideal for hikin and following the River Ure.  Enjoy the newborn lambs, wild flowers and the outdoor pubs.  Stay in the gorgeous Stone House Hotel in Sedbusk where the extensive gardens overlook the dale.  Facilities include a restaurant, library, snooker room and small spa.  Prices start from £115 for a double room.

    I went walking in Wensleydale late last year. It’s a beautiful part of the country. I even had opportunity to visit the cheese factory! :-)
