On the 20th and 21st of June 2009 Liverpool welcomes bands from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Jamaica for the Oye Festival. It is the biggest celebration of African music in the UK and this is it’s 17th year. Headlining the event are the popular Mighty Diamonds. The village of Oye hosts the event and many stalls will sell beer, smoothies, food from all over the world, massages and drums – everything you need for a great time!
