Celebrate Jersey’s Liberation

The beautiful island of Jersey has launched an exciting celebration of its liberation from Nazi Germany.  A collaboration between Jersey Tourism and the Jersey War Tunnels has seen the launch of a new hiking trail around the island.  The hike brings to life the history of Jersey during the German Occupation.  Journalist and enthusiastic walker, Christopher Somerville comments “I have been to Jersey on many occasions and enjoy the variety of walks available on the island.  Of particular note during any of the walks is the history of the German Occupation and the resulting fortifications. It seemed only right and proper to put them all together in one beautifully drawn map.” The hike will highlight 26 fortifactions on the island and is ideal for casual walkers and tourists wishing to explore the fascinating island.
