Picture of the day: Barbican Glassworks, Plymouth

Today’s picture of the day is of Barbican Glassworks in the seaside town of Plymouth.  It is free of charge to visitors who can watch glassblowers at work and buy a souvenir from the gift shop.  It is situated opposite the National Marine Aquarium and adjacent to the Mayflower Steps.

The Barbican glassworks closed 4/5 years ago and is now an excellent restaurant “The Glass Blowing House” Dartington glass is still blown, as in your picture, in Dartington Devon. They still have a retail outlet on the Barbican which is in part of the “Plymouth Gin” Distillery building.
