Join English Heritage’s Tudor court falconers on the 18th and 19th July 2009 as they prepare the royal hunting birds for work, at the 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield, East Sussex. Learn about their duties in the field and the techniques they use to provide sport for their master while finding out about the curious but vital job of the owl. Marvel at the graceful falcons and their stunning aerial displays, as well as the powerful hawk which catches food for the falconer’s larder.
