Join the thousands of people who have already become artistic Grange rovers with an eye for a fabulous work of art or craft by heading to Grange-over-Sands, on the south coast of the Lake District this year.

On both 30th August and 27th September 2009, Prom Art events will be staged on the promenade of the fashionable Edwardian resort, with around 94 artists setting up stalls to showcase their work along a 600-metre stretch of this atmospheric and scenic seaside walkway.

Against the backdrop of the sea and views across Morecambe Bay, professional and amateur artists, schoolchildren and part-time crafts enthusiasts will be displaying original watercolours and oil paintings, photography, cards, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glassware, sculpture, ceramics and knitwear.

The artists are in situ at the promenade from 9.30 am to 4pm, with other entertainment from troupes such as morris dancers and belly dancers, and a brass band at the August event, adding to the occasion.

In addition, the RAF will be displaying the Chinook and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight as well as the Hawk and awesome Eurofighter Typhoon among many others.
