If you love Autumn colours then a visit to Scotney Castle, near Tunbridge Wells, is a must. One of the Seven Wonders of the Weald, Scotney is renowned for Autumn colour as the slopes surrounding the ruined castle on a valley floor burst into bright shades. Richly hued ferns complement the many trees within the gardens themselves, while the estate, which is open all year and free to walkers, is a perfect example of Weald countryside at its very best.
