Day 1 of the Olympic Torch relay – Land’s End to Plymouth

 

Today is day 1 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Land’s End at 7.15am to Plymouth at 7.40pm, passing through Sennen, Newlyn, Penzance, Marazion, Rosundgeon, Ashton, Breage, Helston, Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, St. Stephen, Trewoon, St. Austell, Stenalees, Bugle, Lanivet, Bodmin, Liskeard and Saltash along the way.

Those who are familiar with this part of the country will know how beautiful it is.  Whether you’re a keen walker, a family on a beach holiday, a couple looking for a romantic break, or an avid surfer, there’s something here for everyone.  Notable attractions along the route today include St. Michael’s Mount, the Eden Project and the Tamar Bridge.
