Day 2 of the Olympic Torch relay – Plymouth to Exeter
Today is day 2 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Plymouth at 8.07am to Exeter at 6.08pm, passing through Brixton, Yealmpton, Modbury, Kingsbridge, West Charleton, Chillington, Torcross, Stoke Fleming, Dartmouth, Totnes, Paignton, Torquay, Shaldon and Teignmouth along the way.
The route takes in some beautiful parts of the east Devon coastline and the day will culminate in an evening of celebration at Exeter Cathedral. Along the way, the flame will be making a return to Torre Abbey. Torquay’s oldest building is no stranger to the Olympic torch as it visited back in 1948 when Torquay was the Olympic sailing venue.
Are you in Devon? If so, we’d like to hear from you! Tell us what you think about the torch passing through your county. If you have photos to share, feel free to post a link to them via the comments. Has the last two days inspired any of you to visit Devon or Cornwall some time soon?
