Day 9 of the Olympic Torch relay – Swansea to Aberystwyth

 

Today is day 9 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Swansea at 6.56am to Aberystwyth at 6.14pm, passing through Llanelli, Burry Port, Kidwelly, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Newport, Cardigan/Aberteifi, Sarnau, Brynhoffnant, Llanarth, Aberaeron, Llanon and Llanrhystud along the way.

The route mostly follows close to the coastline and takes in some beautiful sections of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Bearing the torch today will be several medallists from the Special Olympics, as well as 12 year old Megan Jones who became the Mini Masters Golf Champion at the Celtic Manor Resort at the tender age of 11.
