Day 22 of the Olympic Torch relay – Glasgow to Inverness

Today is day 22 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Glasgow at 7:23am to Inverness at 6:11pm, passing through Bearsden, Clydebank, Dumbarton, Luss, Tarbet, Crianlarich, Tyndrum, Glencoe, North Ballachulish, Fort William, Spean Bridge, Fort Augustus, Invermoriston, Lewiston and Drumnadrochit along the way.

As part of the journey, the flame will travel across Loch Ness by boat (look out for an appearance from Nessie!), before calling at the Nevis Centre in Fort William, a popular starting point for ascents of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK.  Another attraction visited by the torch today will be Urquhart Castle, just to the south of Inverness.

Today’s route will cover a total of 169 miles and will involve 92 torchbearers.
