Day 33 of the Olympic Torch relay – York to Carlisle

 

Today is day 33 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from York at 8:05am to Carlisle at 6:07pm, passing through York, Thirsk, Northallerton, Aiskew, Bedale, Aysgarth, Leyburn, Richmond, Barnard Castle, Brough, Appleby-in-Westmorland and Penrith along the way.

There will be a total of 85 torchbearers today and the flame will travel from York Minster to Bitts Park in Carlisle, England’s second most northerly city, for an evening celebration.  Among the attractions that will be passed along the way will be Aysgarth Falls and Richmond Castle.
