Day 37 of the Olympic Torch relay – Salford to Leeds
Today is day 37 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Salford at 6:09am to Leeds at 7:27pm, passing through Trafford, Moss Side, Rusholme, Longsight, Levenshulme, Stockport, Ashton-under-Lyne, Oldham, Marsh, Huddersfield, Brighouse, Halifax, Bradford, Keighley, Skipton, Ilkley, Headingley, Potternewton, Harehills and Richmond Hill along the way.
The flame will visit Media City and Old Trafford in Manchester before heading to Bradford’s Centenary Square and Headingley Cricket Ground. The day will finish with an evening celebration at Temple Newsam in Leeds.
BMX world champion winner Shanaze Reade will be the day’s first torchbearer, whilst former Manchester United player Sir Bobby Charlton will have the honour of carrying the torch past Old Trafford.
