Day 41 of the Olympic Torch relay – Lincoln to Nottingham

 

Today is day 41 of 70 for the London 2012 Olympic torch relay and will see the torch travel from Lincoln at 7:52am to Nottingham at 5:50pm, passing through Saxilby, Darlton, East Markham, Tuxford, Kirton, Boughton, Edwinstowe, Mansfield, Kelham, Newark-on-Trent, Balderton, Grantham, Radcliffe-on-Trent and West Bridgford along the way.

On its way to Robin Hood Country, the flame will call at Sherwood Forest and visit Major Oak, a tree estimated to be between 800 and 1,000 years old. The final torchbearers of the day will be ice skating greats Torvill and Dean.

The torch will today cover 100 miles and be carried by 107 different torchbearers.
