Wimbledon 2012 gets underway

With England suffering penalty shoot-out heartache in the football once more, and the Olympics still a month away, the country’s sporting attentions are now turning to this year’s Wimbledon Championships.  Today is the first day of the tournament, and there’s been one upset already with five-times champion Venus Williams being beaten in straight sets (6-1 6-3) by Elena Vesnina, the Russian world number 79 – her worst defeat in 15 years.
