How about the tiny rural village of Dinas, meaning city!!, named after the Iron Age Hillfort that overlooks the village on the Lleyn Peninsual in North West Wales. See some images here http://www.flickr.com/photos/75944007@N06/?saved=1

We love it and are extremely lucky to be living here.

If there is enough interest and market demand I see no obstacles. Daily rent without overnight stay might be interesting for business travelers, students, transit truck drivers and of course young couples. I'd give it a try as a household manager.

Shame the writer doesn't know his Yorkshire from his Co Durham.

Teesdale is, or course, the southernmost of the DURHAM DALES. Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, High Force and Bowes Museum are all in YORKSHIRE.

Sadly my husband and I missed it as we were just coming back from our vacation to Africa, we are devastated to have missed out as we would have loved to have seen it. Any ideas when it will next be in London?

What a waste of money! Who actually footed the bill in the end?

I was looking at some logos designed by amateurs on another blog and they looked far better - even the one by that BBC worker.

So much for a recession when we can burn £400k on a logo!

Hi the beach that has it all for me is Whitesands, just a hop away from St Davids in West Wales. It has a majesty all on its own as befits the beach where Patrick chose to sail to Ireland before he became their patron saint. It has a sense of of place, peace and an overwhelming beauty, and guards the holy places of Pembrokeshire. It is as pure and clean as the waters that surround it. It truly is a holy coast.
