£3 million for new attractions at Legoland

Legoland is spending £3 million on a new Kingdom of the Pharaohs in 2009.  It is based on Lego’s mini character Johnny Thunder who is an archeologist adventurer inspired by Indiana Jones.  There are five new rides including Laser Riders where visitors sit in one of ten specially constructed Jeeps and go through scenes such as a Spider’s lair and a laboratory and shoot targets.  A six metre high Pharaoh is situated in the centre of the park and has been built with 200,000 Lego bricks.  There is a Scarab-Bouncers ride aimed at children which bounces riders 15 feet into the air and other rides include a big wheel, carousel and a swinging chair.  Legoland is located in 150 acres of beautiful tree lined land and enjoys spectacular views of Windsor Castle.  It offers a total of 50 thrill rides and new for 2009 is a 4D Bob the Builder show.
