According to Travelbite, more than four in ten Britons are leaving their travel plans less than six months before they go and many leave it just days before. There are many reasons for this, such as the belief that late deals equal better bargains, even in the UK. More than half of Britons still book their holidays more than six months in advance and 4% leave it until the day before they go! But with more and more people preferring to stay in the UK partly due to the current downturn in the economic climate and it is highly advisable to book in advance if you possibly can to avoid disappointment.
