From the 5th-10th March East London hosts a six day festival celebrating the unique and creative mix in the city. In excess of 300 events will take place in areas including The City, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Hackney and Stratford. The events range from art and history to performance, fashion, film and food. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London comments on the festival, ‘I hope the programme will encourage those who have not visited the area to come and explore its many facets. For those more regular visitors and of course residents, I hope the range of East activities and events will tempt you to do something different, discover new gems and new venues.’ There is something to suit all tastes and events to appeal to everyone; featured events include walks, cycling projects and Do Something Different weekend.
