Gatwick to Newquay service hailed as a success

The new London Gatwick to Newquay service provided by Flybe has apparently been a huge success. It is the only direct service between the South-West and the UK capital and has resulted in an amazing 83% overall rise in passengers between the two destinations! The route was launched on 15th February 2009 and runs three times a day.

“Only direct service” – I don’t think so.
Air Southwest have 4 flights a day from Newquay to Gatwick.
plus I think they are starting a new service to London City later this month with a couple of flights a day I think.

Thank you for correcting this. You appear to be correct, yet this is contrary to Flybe’s own press release at http://www.flybe.com/news/0904/3121.htm !
