TripAdvisor collected the information from submitted reviews of holiday destinations, and according to their report, the town of St. Ives in Cornwall beat all the ranked beaches in Spain and Italy.
Visitors to the area seem to like the wide clean sandy beaches many of which are easily accessible, and other nearby attractions such as the Tate St. Ives – an off-shoot of the Tate in London.
Most of all we suspect they enjoyed the sunshine as it always has been a sunnier climate than most of Britain. Cornwall may never be able to compete with some of the sunnier areas of the Mediterranean, but judging by this survey the extras certainly win votes.
