The London Pass is by far the most popular of the passes which give you free or discounted access to London attractions, but is it worth the money?
This is an interesting question that Laura Porter of About.com London fame asked recently on the VisitBritain Superblog, especially concentrating on whether you could beat the price of the 1 day pass – around £43.
43 pounds might sound quite a bit, but considering you can get into the London Bridge Experience & London Tombs for free and that would normally cost around £23 on its own, you can probably see why a pass such as this is starting to make sense.
In Laura’s case she managed to visit around 11 London attractions in a day which is admittedly quite a rush, but she saved around £53 on the price of the pass – more than it cost her in the first place.
Doing some back of a beermat calculations, it seems if you visit more than 3 of the more expensive attractions including the London Tombs, London Bridge Experience, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and similar then you should be making savings. Don’t forget, the pass also allows you free access to many cinemas so can even be used for evening entertainment.
The London pass now includes the option of travel pass to get you around the London Underground and a free 120 page guide for all the attractions to see in London.
