If you’re one of the 1.8 million people who applied for London Olympic tickets, then your bank account can rest easy for a week or so due to delays in taking payments.
These delays appear to be caused by trying to work out who will get what tickets in the random selection process.
The London Olympic Committee haven’t narrowed the date range from when money will be taken, but merely moved it to run between 10th May and 10th June. Anyone who applied for tickets will need to keep the money in the account for debit cards, or in their available balance on the credit card for the potentially entire amount due.
After ticket money is taken, the latest applicants should be notified about what Olympic tickets they’ve received is still the 24th June. The reason for this delay in telling people what they’ve paid for has still not been made clear by the organisers.
