Blackpool best UK airport

 

Which? Holiday has crowned Blackpool airport as the UK’s favourite after members awarded it an overall customer score of 80 percent.  Blackpool airport only flies to 20 destinations but the rankings were based on the distance from security to the boarding gate and the time taken to get through security.  Also considered was the design of the airport, signage, flight detail monitors and attitude and efficiency of staff.  The results were based on 38 terminals at 30 airports and Blackpool beat competition such as London city airport which came a close second with an overall customer score of 78 percent.

  1. I didn’t know Blackpool even had an airport. Guess it goes to show that small can sometimes be best, especially when it allows a significantly better customer service.

    Oh yes… until January of this year, Ryanair have a base there but they withdrew with the airport’s introduction of a £10 per person airport development fee.

    Now it’s just served by Aer Arann, Flybe (operated by Loganair), Jet2 and Manx2 airlines.

    It’s also interesting to note that passengers have rated Heathrow’s Terminal 1 as the worst place to travel from in. Only 31% of the 9,000 people questioned said they were satisfied with services there. And terminals 2, 3 and 4 were listed as the next least popular, followed by Gatwick Airport’s two terminals.

    Maybe when it comes to airports, the smaller the better.
