Bristol to host World Cup Fan Park with giant screen

Bristol tourism officials will welcome visitors for a World Cup Fan Park in Queen Square during the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a giant 30 square metre screen that will be one of only two in the UK. The Bristol World Cup Fan Park initiative is a result of efforts by the Bristol 2018 World Cup Bid Team, Bristol City Council and Hyundai.

Destination Bristol, the destination management partnership for Bristol and South Gloucestershire has published an online World Cup Fan Park planner that includes travel offers, activities, and details regarding the fan park event in Queen Square. The planner even includes football-free events for those not wishing to take part in the World Cup festivities. Bristol’s World Cup ‘widows’ will be able to escape the tournament and indulge in a football-free day of pampering and treats in Broadmead on Saturday 26th June 2010!
