Fire Foods, a family-run business in Lincolnshire, has earned the title of ‘world’s hottest chilli pepper’ thanks to its cultivation of the Infinity Chilli. Tests at Warwick University have determined a reading of 1,176,182 on the Scoville scale. This surpasses the previous 2007 record of 1,041,427 for the Naga Jolokia pepper (also referred to as the Ghost Chilli) by a significant margin.
