London’s largest free outdoor arts festival takes place this weekend. The Mayor’s Thames Festival runs over two days and promises all kinds of activities across a four-zone stretch of the River Thames. Zone 1 spans Westminster Bridge to Waterloo Bridge, zone 2 covers Waterloo Bridge to Blackfriars Bridge, zone 3 Blackfriars Bridge to London Bridge, and zone 4 London Bridge to Tower Bridge and beyond.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, describes the event as “…a lively and magical celebration of London and its river … It is a wonderful example of people coming together, getting involved and creating a brilliant showcase of the originality and wit that infuses our daily lives.”
