80 London theatres away from the West End

London’s West End theatres get a huge amount of publicity each year, but what about all the other independent London theatres offering many quality shows for half the price.

The theatre experience in London might always seem rather expensive and limited in terms of what’s available, but if you look outside the traditional West End of London there are a surprising number of both large and small independent theatres offering a wide range of productions for a lot less.

80 of these theatres are featured on the OffWestEnd web site which offers tickets for shows from as little as £5 a ticket, right up to £50. Taking a quick albeit not exactly scientific look at the prices most productions seem to be around the £10 to £20 region, which leaves a lot more money for the pre or post theatre drinks.

Some of the theatres featured include Shakespeare’s Globe, The Old Vic (pictured) and The New Vic alongside much smaller venues in and around the capital.
