8 year old West Ham fan walking London for charity

Eight year old Jonjo Heuerman is planning to walk the 23 miles from Wembley Stadium to West Ham’s Upton Park ground in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund this February.

Jonjo chose to raise the money for the the Bobby Moore Fund (part of Cancer Research UK) in memory of both former West Ham captain and his grandmother Lynda Heuerman (60) who both died from bowel cancer.

During his three day walk which should start on the 25th February, Jonjo will pass through six London boroughs including Barking where Bobby Moore grew up. He is aiming to arrive at Upton Park centre circle before the beginning of the Hammers’ clash against Liverpool on 27 February.

Jonjo got the idea for the fundraising after his sister Megan raised £9,500 in 2009 in memory of Lynda, so Jonjo is hoping to top this by raising around £10,000 from the walk.

His mother was quoted as saying “Now we are worried what Megan might do next to beat that. This time they are raising money for the Bobby Moore Fund which is a great cause. Their nan would be very proud of them.”

At the time of writing, the total on the Jonjo London walk Just Giving site stood at £5161 + £570 in gift aid.
