Remember our post “Who gets the Olympic stadium after 2012?“…? Well… it’s going to West Ham Football Club. The Olympic Park Legacy Committee have voted in favour of the club’s bid which, unlike the Tottenham Hotspur FC bid, would retain the athletics track around the pitch.
An announcement from the OPLC is expected on Friday and then all that remains is for the government and London Mayor to make the final decision, but they are expected to back the OPLC’s recommendation.

Not sure the track will ever be used, except perhaps in training, but it was a bit daft of Spurs to say “we’ll knock the entire stadium down”. Really not likely to get any public support for a venture such as that.
Then again, why on earth would either of them want to move the ground and spend that kind of money revamping it?
