For all those in and away from the homeland of Wales – Dydd gwyl dewi hapus.
Somehow St. David’s Day doesn’t seem to get quite the publicity of some other major national events, but we’re here to try our little bit to publicise this important Welsh national day of pride.
St. David was a member of the royal house of Ceredigion and amongst various teaching works, also founded a Celtic monastic on which the current St David’s Cathedral is built.
Although not too well known outside of Wales, there’ll be plenty going on in Wales itself including the St. David’s Day Parade in Cardiff as well as “eisteddfod’s” which are a Welsh form of musical festival held in schools throughout the land.
Another tradition is preparing Cawl which is a traditional Welsh broth generally containing lamb and leeks, although ingredients do vary quite a bit.
So whatever you’re doing, hope you have fun.
