5 recommended family attractions for Easter

Wonder no more about how you’re going to keep the kids entertained this Easter as these five tips will keep any family holiday fulfilled and exciting.

The tips are from readers of the Guardian, so real people have visited these and assessed them for quality, experience and value for money.

1) The Strangest Place in the World or as it’s sometimes known, The Forbidden Corner is an utterly bizarre world created in four acres of Yorkshire gardens. The area has been turned into a network of tunnels, passageways and follies with surprises round every corner. Absolutely memorable for all ages.

2) Blue Planet Aquarium has two amazing underwater tunnels where you can come face to face with some of the weird and wonderful sea creatures from around the world. The aquarium is close to Cheshire Oaks retail park and about 10 minutes from the centre of Chester. Does make me wonder if the fish think we’re strange creatures stuck in a tunnel for their entertainment?

3) Easter Egg Trail at Ham House is one of many Easter egg trails at National Trust properties, but this is one of the best looking backdrops to a trail in the country. Lots of activities happen over Easter including of course the Easter egg hunt and face painting.

4) The Welsh Mountain Zoo has a wide range of creatures from all around the world and plenty of hands on experiences for the kids. New this year are the Amazon parrots, some of which talk alongside the Agoutis – a large rodent from South America.

5) Cream O’Galloway ice-cream factory has got to be a family hit with a combination of indoor play areas, outdoor play centre and of course the chance to make your own ice cream! Loads of things to do whatever the weather.

Hopefully that’s given you a few more ideas about what you can do this Easter. There are of course lots more places to see and things to do around the UK on the UKattraction web site. If you need somewhere to stay there are 1000’s hotels on UK hotel or perhaps a holiday cottage is more your thing.
