Could adventure camps finally be the answer to the “I’m bored” syndrome that hits several times a year when teachers need a week off or six?
The camp idea seems to have started in the US, but has spread over here with several companies running them either as day or week long schedules. Each takes a slightly different approach, but in essence the idea is to keep the kids entertained and wear them out, thus saving the sanity of parents.
One of the biggest companies is Camp Beaumont who have been running adventure camps for over 30 years, so are pretty experienced at keeping the little darlings happy. Crucially they also run camps from 3 to 17 years rather than the more usual 12 – 16 age ranges.
