A new online game is nearing release which is designed to make using London public transport a little more fun, at least for Oyster Card users.
The game is called Chromaroma (not exactly sure why), and uses your Oyster Card journey information as provided by Transport for London in what has been described as “location-based top-trumps”.
In essence, all the journey information is logged and each destination and journey earns you points, collects you people and so-forth which takes you higher up the levels in the game and accomplishes missions.
The game is still in beta and according to the forums, there are currently problems with the Transport for London web sites on which the game relies for the data, but once completed it is hoped the game will encourage people to use the London Tube, buses and even Boris Bikes more.
Unusually the game doesn’t appear to have come from Transport for London, although there may be some backing there, so this is not another of London Mayor Boris Johnson’s schemes to get us all out of our cars.
There’s a video showing how the game looks currently and more information on the Chromaroma web site.

Perhaps this could be the new Foursquare?

In order to encourage people to use the London Tube, I think the should try to reduce its price…
