Those with possibly slightly more money than sense, can partake in a royal wedding extravaganza costing a mere £11,000 or more in London!
Most of us might or might not be watching the wedding on the TV or perhaps even brave the crowds in the streets of London. If you’re really well off, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel would like to offer you a royal wedding package costing from just £11,000.
The 6 night package takes the lucky couple on a tour of several very royally connected places, as well as giving exclusive access to “ringside” seats overlooking the Mall – heaven forbid you’d want to mingle with the commoners.
The pre-wedding venues:
1) A tour of Chartwell house which was once owned by Winston Churchill, including a private lunch at the house.
2) An evening tour of the Spencer House, home to the Spencer family and one time residence of the late Princess Diana. They can take drinks on the terrace overlooking Green Park and have dinner in the Great Room.
3) Visit Althorp in Northamptonshire which is another family residence of the Spencer family and final resting place of Princess Diana.
4) The part which has most royal watchers talking is a scheduled dinner with a member of the royal family on the 28th April. As most members will be attending the service, it has been suggested the most likely person hosting this dinner would be Sarah, Duchess Of York.
On the big day:
On the Friday April 29th, the guests will be able to watch the parade along the Mall from the rooftop of the Institute Of Contemporary Art (ICA) which overlooks the road. They will also have lunch in the gallery after the couple pass by.
The day after the wedding:
Finally after the couple have been wed and all the crowds have dispersed, the hotel guests will be able to take a private tour of Westminster Abbey before it reopens to the public.
The costs:
The standard cost of the package is around £11,300 per person, but for guests feeling a little more flush they could upgrade to the one-bedroom deluxe suite which for two people would according to The Daily Mail cost around £39,188 including the tours.
Just imagine the American Express rewards points you’ll get from this.
More information is presumably available from the The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.
If of course you can’t quite stretch to this budget, there are plenty of hotels in London although we do recommend picking hotels a little further from the centre to reduce costs.

Or you could just watch it in your local pub for the price of a pint!
