Despite having properties in over 100 countries, the Holiday Lettings Hall of Fame 2011 top 10 features no less than 5 properties from the UK, with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all represented. Holiday Lettings, a Tripadvisor company, is one of the largest self-catering portals out there and lists more than 45,000 holiday homes in 116 countries.
The overall winner was the luxurious riverside apartment belonging to Kendal Holiday Cottages, situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
In second place was a property on the Lough Erne Golf Resort in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, and third was Assynt House at Evanton in Scotland. Fourth and sixth place also went to UK properties in North Wales and South-West England respectively.
