How we can help UK tourism businesses

Normally on the UKseries.com UK travel blog, we bring you news from within the industry, interesting tidbits, new developments, and so on and so forth.  For this post, we’re going to have a short break from that and explain some of the ways that we can help businesses in the UK that have an association with the tourism and leisure industries.  First, we’ll give a very brief background to the UKseries.com suite of sites and then secondly, we’ll explain how we can help if you’re involved in the industry.

Background

UKseries.com is a network of sites owned and run by The Dedicated Partnership Ltd., a company that has been at the forefront of the online marketing of tourism ever since the Web first came along in 1993, and that has created websites for tourist boards, top hotels, tourist attractions and more.  We were one of the first in on the scene (and one of the few that were around then that are still around today!).  It wasn’t until 6 years later, though, that we began work on the first UKseries site, which was UKhotel.com. The success of this site meant that others quickly followed, including UKbed.com, UKcottage.com, UKcampsite.com, UKattraction.com, etc. and there are around 15 sites now within the UKseries brand.

During all this time, we’ve kept up with the latest developments on the Web, embraced social media and continued to enhance the sites.  We also work very hard on the marketing of the sites which, in our opinion, is the singlemost important factor in making websites work.  Collectively, the UKseries sites serve in excess of 2 million visitors per year, we have more than 500,000 pages spidered in Google, over 2,000 fans on our main Facebook page, and more than 40,000 users follow our main Twitter account.  But it doesn’t stop there. We have niche-specific Facebook fan pages – our London Facebook fan page, for example, has more than 40,000 fans. We also have a second Twitter account geared specifically towards special offers within the UK tourism industry and this has almost 10,000 followers.  We have always done extremely well in the search engines; for instance, we have occupied the top spot on Google for a search for ‘uk hotels’ for around 10 years now (you’ll also see us in the top 10 for searches such as ‘uk cottages’ and ‘uk attractions’ plus a whole host of other terms). Our success has made us among the top affiliate partners for the likes of leading brands such as Premier Inn, Travelodge and Hoseasons.
