Crap Days Out: celebrating the worst days out in Britain

A new book is hitting the shelves and, perhaps surprisingly, one of Britain’s most popular attractions, Madame Tussaud’s, is on the authors’ hit list too. Crap Days Out has been penned by freelance journalists Gareth Rubin and Jon Parker.  You can buy the book from Amazon for just £5.89 including postage and packing, and see for yourself which attractions have been brutally ridiculed.

Definitely some poor ones there, but one person’s bad day out another person will find intriguing.

I posted a list of 13 I know of that are in the book and can sort by county – http://www.daytripfinder.co.uk/blog/bad-days-out-or-eccentric-fun

Indeed. It’s different things for different people. If Madame Tussaud’s was really so bad, it surely wouldn’t attract the visitor numbers that it does.

We went to the Cumberland Pencil Museum not very long and, whilst it’s not earth-shatteringly exciting (hey, it’s about pencils… what did they expect?!), it’s still worth a visit and it is a good alternative to walking the fells in the rain.
