Last chance to see London theatre productions

Some productions seem to go on forever, but most will close in a couple of years, such as those mentioned here.

1) The biggest surprise for me was Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of “Oliver!” which followed up from the hit TV series looking for the perfect person to play Nancy, albeit for the few months of the production.

This production of Oliver however is due to close on the 8th January 2011 and tickets are going very fast, so you’ll need to grab yours quickly. Whether this will appear anywhere else is currently unknown, but the majority of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s productions only seem to appear in the West End.

2) Sister Act which was adapted from the films will be closing at the end of October with Whoopi Goldberg playing the mother superior, as well as co-producing the show. The last show will be on the 30th October 2010 at the London Palladium theatre.

3) Avenue Q is also closing its doors on the 30th October, so expect badly behaved puppets to be standing outside stage doors asking for “a little change” or just hitting the bottle. Considering what these puppets got up to in their professional lives, we can’t put anything beyond them. Currently showing at the Wyndham’s Theatre.

4) Sweet Charity has a slightly longer run into November, but will still close in the West End on the 6 November 2010.

5) Finally The Railway Children stage production of the book and film(s), will end on the 2nd January 2010. You can still visit the locations from the film versions of the Railway Children.

There are numerous Theatre Break packages including those above by clicking here to Superbreak.

Thanks to VisitLondon for identifying these.
