Nike game to hail a new kind of tourism?

Sportswear giant Nike has come up with an innovative game called GRID that ought to get people off their sofas and exploring their cities on foot.  They’ve divided the city of London up into 48 postcodes and you’ve got “15 days to run your city” which basically involves running between phone boxes, dialling a specific number, entering a unique identifier, and then following the instructions given, which sends them to other phone boxes in the city.

Maybe something like this can also help with the problem of the ever-dwindling numbers of telephone boxes on Britain’s streets.  It will also be interesting to see if this concept is extended to other cities across the UK.
