For years I told the world about the “little people” and all they did was give me a straight-jacket to wear, but now I’m proved right!
An artist calling himself Slinkachu has photographed these little people and with their help has recreated scenes in miniature all over the streets of London.
I hate to use the word “art” as it likely makes everyone hit “back”, but trust me, this guy has a genuinely good sense of humour and some of the art works are worthy of the Turner Prize, except they maybe make a little too much sense.
In many of the scenes, Slinkachu shows us what it would be like to have a miniature world and perhaps explains that what we think we see is a little relative to our understanding, eg: this photo (opens new window).
My all-time favourite has to be this scene especially as he seems to think the same about curry as I do.
Where the next show will be – who knows, but they seem to be occurring all around the country. The curry incident was from London, the other was from Newcastle in Tyne & Wear and shows have also occured in Manchester.
So next time you’re out and about and something catches your eye, maybe stop and take a closer look. You never know, there might be a guy drowning in curry quick sand.
Nurse….the dancing pink elephants are back…!
Psst…the little guy on my shoulder just mentioned that you can see even more of this art in the new Little People in the City book.
