Peel New Year’s Day Dip

There seems to be something about jumping into freezing cold water around Christmas and New Year in aid of charity, so if you’re on the Isle of Man you might want to try the Peel New Years Day Dip.

The idea is simple – you line up on the 1st January 2011 at 12 noon, optionally in fancy dress, and jump into sea around the island and swim to a set point. Just remember before signing up for this that the water is exceptionally cold especially in January.

The entire event is all in aid of several charities – Peel Lifeboat (RNLI), Multiple Sclerosis and Sailing For The Disabled and last year raised over £1650. You can get more information on the Peel New Year’s Day Dip.

If you’re in London on Christmas Day and want to try this, see the Peter Pan Cup.
