Seven restaurants in London are celebrating today after being awarded a coveted Michelin Star for 2011.
These restaurants join the 53 others who have already gained one or more of the Michelin Star awards promoting excellence in service and food. Gordon Ramsay was amongst those who’s restaurants were found worthy, which is one of 12 Michelin Stars he now holds.
Hélène Darroze of The Connaught is also no doubt celebrating having been awarded two Michelin Stars for her restaurant, which was formerly a one Michelin Star establishment.
100th anniversary: Michelin themselves are this year celebrating the 100th anniversary of the publication of the Michelin guide which was originally designed more as a manual for motorists dealing with complications such as flat tyres than flambe’s. It has since evolved into one of the world’s most prestigious restaurant guides.
The restaurants newly awarded Michelin Stars in 2011 are:
Kitchen W8
Petersham Nurseries Café
Viajante
Galvin La Chapelle
Pétrus
Seven Park Place
Gauthier Soho

Proof that the restaurants in london are amongst the best in the world. I love the variety of cuisine you get from London restaurants, there is something for every taste. I haven’t experienced variety to this degree anywhere else on my travels.
