The Olympic Stadium has reached another milestone of 1000 days since the first machines began construction of the mighty stadium which will be the main focus for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The images below show the state of the Olympic Stadium at various milestones along its path to completion including the state a few days ago when it hit the magic 1000 day of construction.
Day 1: According to the official London Olympic blog, it is just over a thousand days since the contractors moved onto the cleared site and began to install the piles which support the stadium.

Day 500: The site at the beginning was just a brown field with a few heavy plant machines scattered around, but 500 days later most of the outside of the stadium was in place including the outside ring of the roof.

Day 1000: On day 1000, the entire roof was in place along with most of the seating and even the track area defined. There’s still a lot to be done, but it should be ready by 27th July 2011 ready for various testing regimes.

There’s more information on the Olympic Stadium progress on the official Olympic blog along with the stadium web cams which give up to the minute views of what is happening in and around the stadium site.
