Did you know that this week is British Pie Week?! Running from 7th to 13th March 2011, British Pie Week celebrates the humble British pie – from traditional steak and kidney pie to apple pie – and much more in between. You’ll also get to see who scoops the Pub Pie Champion 2011 award. To be honest, the week looks to be more like a marketing ploy from Jus-Rol than anything else, but we think the good old British pie is worthy of a special mention.

We’re loving pie week in our house. We decided to go a little off piste and make something a little different. I popped to Borough Market on Saturday morning and picked up a Lakeland hare which was subsequently transformed into a rather delicious hare pie matched with an equally exciting Aussie red.
