Our A to Z of the UK is an opportunity for us all to share our knowledge of the UK and hopefully discover one or two gems along the way. Today we’d like to hear what your favourite place in the UK is, that begins with the letter ‘B’. It can be a city, a town or a tiny village. Or it can be something more specific such as a particular tourist attraction. Whatever or wherever it is, please post a comment and tell us what makes it special…

Belfast!
I had a rocky start with Belfast (lets just say police car rides were involved) but I can’t wait to visit again next year for the Titanic anniversary. :)
Birmingham, for variety of shops, cosmopolitan, middle of england, hub of everything!! Nice!!
Bath
That would have to be Bath. It is charming, historical and healing – what more could you ask for in a vacation spot? Toss in beautiful Roman ruins and you have picture perfection.
Brighton
Blanchland, Northumberland. Beautiful medieval village lies between Hexham and Consett. I’m biased, but wouldn’t live anywhere else. Full of history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The village has a pub/hotel, Abbey, Deli, Shop & Post Office, Tea Rooms, ‘Hat Shop’ and is set in the most peaceful location!
Bottlesford – a tiny hamlet between Stonehenge and Avebury
the sun setting on Buttermere is hard to beat :)
Bristol is a great little city – loads of things to do, and the Clifton gorge is breathtaking.
Beamish is the living museum in the south west corner of Newcastle. a great place to spend the day or even two. they is so much to see and do.. Brilliant.
(The) Broads – always an amazing place to stand and stare, walk or boat, whatever the season or weather … and then there are the pubs!
Brixham is such a lovely fishingport. Lots to see and do.

Bath… I just loooove the place, their Roman Baths and their georgian architecture (oh, and the river Avon) ;)
Berkshire – historic, royal county. Is the home of many British gems of little towns, villages, pubs and people.
In between Sidmouth and Seaton lies the little village of Branscombe. Time has been standing still for a long time. Beautiful cottages packed with flower baskets.
Bicton Park Botanical Gardens in Budleigh Salterton. Nice church, greenhouses and train in a beautiful setting. Easy to spent your day there.
Buckland Monarchorum is a small village north of Plymouth. Besides an old village you will find one of the best walled gardens i’ ve ever seen. It’s called The Garden House.
Don’t miss Bold Head in Salcombe. One of the best views high over Salcombe and the estuary. It’s a short walk from Overbecks gardens. Halfway you will find a bench. Don’t forget your camera and picnic basket.
Blenheim Palace…do I need to say more…?
Visit the seaside town of Bridlington. Especially the Old Town is very nice.
Bath, Bristol and Bournemouth.
I love the Southwest!
Bristol is the capital of party, Bournemouth has the best beach and in Bath you can enjoy the Roman public baths!
Bedruthan Steps, Mawgan Porth, Cornwall.
Perched on a cliff top overlooking the golden sands of Mawgan Porth Beach below, Bedruthan Steps Hotel is an unbeatable place for three generations to take time out together, be inspired and discover simple pleasures.
Beaulieu – its such a beautiful village plus there’s the National Motor Museum and Palace House which make for a great day out.
Butlins at Bognor… or Skeggy… even Mineheads not bad
Bishopsteignton – a lovely little village rising above the river Teign in south Devon.
Bangor – North Wales! It has Sea – some sun – a pier a cathedral, University, and lovely lovely people and many many pubs :)
